Installing
WriteItNow 4
It's a good idea to
back up
all .wnw files before installing a new
version.
For Version 4 on PCs backup 'C:\WriteItNow4'
For Version 4 on OS X backup '/Applications/WriteItNow'
If you are installing a newer version of WriteItNow 4 over an older version this sequence is recommended:
[1] Back up any story files. These are files ending in
.wnw E.g
'my story.wnw'
[2]
Download the demo version
[3] Rename the existing installation directory. E.g. change '
c:\writeitnow4' to '
c:\writeitnow4_old'
[4] Install the software to '
c:\writeitnow4'
Your old unlock details are stored in the registry so they'll still be ok.
[5] Copy any .wnw files from '
c:\writeitnow4_old' to '
c:\writeitnow4'
