Loading and Saving

Summary

Use the File Menu load and save stories.

Loading

When WriteItNow starts it loads the last story you were working on. You can load another story or create a new blank story

There's a list of the most recent stories you've worked on and you can load any of these. Use the 'Recent Stories' option to select these.

Saving

Only registered users can save stories.

Each time a story is saved a back-up is created.

It's always a good idea to copy stories onto some other media (floppies, usb drives, CD's etc) from time to time.

Recovering a Story from a Back-up

[1] Go to the "File" menu and select "Load"

[2] Set the 'Files of Type' selection to "All Files"

[3] Look for a file with your story name and the ending '.bak'

E.g .'mystory.wnw.2006_03_10_4.bak' This is the 4th back-up of 'mystory' made on the 10th of March 2006

[4] If there is more than one of these the one with the most recent date and highest number is the most recent

[5] Load it then save it with a suitable name. E.g. 'mystory'

Deleting Back-ups

Use the 'Delete Backups' option to delete all back-ups for the current story.
